Adapting the behavioral regulation in active commuting to and from school questionnaire in Sweden: BR-ACS(SWE)

• Using self-determination theory, we adapted BR-ACS to a Swedish context. BR-ACS(SWE) is valid and reliable measure of children’s motivation toward ACS. could be used in future research among children who travel school. Although growing attention has been paid explaining active school young people at the international level, no measures for commuting (ACS) were found Sweden. Guided by this aimed adapt Behavioral Regulation Active Commuting from School (BR-ACS) questionnaire context test resulting version’s psychometric properties. The purposive cross-sectional sample included 273 students (58 % girls, aged 10–12 years) four urban schools. Results confirmatory factor analyses psychometrically supported six-factor correlated model (intrinsic motivation, integrated regulation, identified introjected external amotivation) hierarchical three-factor (autonomous, controlled amotivation), which invariant across gender. Latent correlations underpinned symplex-like pattern. Discriminant convergent validity reliability gathered.
